ABC officially named Lisa Guerrero as Melissa Stark’s sideline replacement yesterday on Monday Night Football.

“It’s the biggest job in sports,” said the 38-year-old Guerrero, who is best known for her work on “The Best Damn Sports Period” on Fox Sports Net. “I am so excited I feel like I’m having one of those outer-body experiences where you are kind of floating over yourself.”

The Post first reported ABC’s decision to hire Guerrero last Friday.

Guerrero replaces Stark, who is missing the season because of a maternity leave. With Guerrero’s three-year contract, Stark is not expected to return because she has told ABC officials she wants to pursue a morning news job.

If Stark changes her mind, then ABC could possibly go with two sideline reporters in 2004.

“Melissa’s contract ends in a few weeks and we’ll see what her decision is,” producer Fred Gaudelli said. “Right now, our focus is on Lisa on the sidelines and that she’ll be doing that role for three years, minimally.”

Guerrero also will work other sports events for ABC and some for ESPN, but Gaudelli said those events hadn’t been specified yet.
