The Jets lost another assistant coach yesterday when the Raiders hired Jimmy Raye to be their assistant head coach/offensive coordinator under Norv Turner.

Raye had been with the Jets the past two seasons as an assistant head coach mostly in charge of helping the offensive line.

In December, Herman Edwards fired defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell, defensive backs coach Bill Bradley, defensive line coach Rubin Carter and defensive assistant David Merritt.

Donnie Henderson was hired Monday to replace Cottrell.
