Sherrone Moore has received “spiritual guidance” from his predecessor at Michigan following the scandal that cost him his coaching job.
Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh, who led the Wolverines to a national championship in 2023, said Tuesday that he has texted with Moore after the latter was fired over having an inappropriate relationship with a staffer in violation of university policy.
The 39-year-old Moore, a married father of three, also was arrested and charged with felony home invasion, plus misdemeanor counts of breaking and entering and stalking in a domestic relationship stemming from allegedly breaking into the home of his executive assistant and lover, Paige Shiver, in which he grabbed butter knives and kitchen scissors and threatened to harm himself.

“I still don’t have my head wrapped around it,” Harbaugh said. “It’s a tragedy. Just praying for all concerned. I love my alma mater, I love Michigan, but I love the Chargers, too. I’d be doing a disservice if I wasn’t putting all my focus on this game [Sunday against Dallas]. This is the most important game for us.”
