UFC legend Jon Jones foiled an attempted car robbery at his home over the weekend, chasing the suspected thief off his property with a shotgun, according to a surveillance video he posted Sunday on Instagram.
The two-time UFC light heavyweight champion emerged from the garage at his Albuquerque home seconds after a man is seen walking across his driveway and entering one of several parked automobiles. Jones is then shown running after the man across the screen and out of the camera’s view while carrying a gun.
“Ended up tapping on this guys driver side window with the muzzle of my shotgun last night,” Jones posted along with the video. “Next time you try to rob someone, make sure you’re fast enough to out run them.
“He’s lucky I’m smart enough to not shoot a man while he’s retreating. People I know times are getting hard but your life isn’t worth a few material possessions. What are your thoughts on this video, what would you have done differently?”

Jones, who owns a career UFC record of 26-1-0, hasn’t fought since February’s bout against Dominick Reyes, with a plan to move up to the heavyweight class.
UFC middleweight champ Israel Adesanya, who is scheduled to challenge current light heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz at a date to be determined, said over the weekend that he hopes to fight Jones in 2021 if he defeats Blachowicz.
