Hofstra’s coaching staff spent quite some time watching Canarsie’s Nathaniel Lester when it recruited the guard a year ago.

It paid off for both, as Lester is now a freshman at Hofstra and the Pride found yet another player from the Brooklyn school.

Yves Jules, a 6-1 guard who averaged 11 points for Canarsie last season as a junior, committed to Hofstra, choosing Tom Pecora’s program over Houston.

“They saw Yves a lot last year during Nate’s games,” Canarsie head coach Tom Allen said. “I guess they liked what they saw.”
