GRAND PRAIRIE, Tex. – The Breeders’ Cup workout spotlight yesterday was focused on Juvenile candidate Afleet Alex, who had the clockers nodding in approval as he zipped five furlongs in :58.2 at Lone Star Park. Anyone who watched the work was shocked when they heard the time. Afleet Alex, under no urging from exercise rider Sam Cabrera, didn’t look as if he was going that fast.

Also at Lone Star, Domestic Dispute (Mile) breezed five furlongs in 1:02.1 over the turf course, which has been on the soft side because of recent thunderstorms. Royal Regalia (Mile) went the same distance on the lawn in 1:03.2.

Another contender for the Mile, Special Ring, sizzled five furlongs in :58.3 over the main track at Santa Anita.

Three horses worked at Churchill Downs before shipping to Texas. Cuvee (Sprint) drilled four furlongs in :47.4. Runway Model (Juvenile Fillies) went five in 1:00.3. Silver Tree (Mile) went a half in :47.1.

At Keeneland, Dance Away Capote (Juvenile Fillies) went a half in :50.1.
