Kevin Holland, a UFC welterweight fighter, helped subdue a gunman at a crowded sushi restaurant in Houston on Monday.

Holland, who also chased down a carjacker less than six months ago, spoke to The Post about the incidents.

“I’d just finished my meal at Ra Sushi, other people were still eating — you know, big guy, faster eater — I was on my second cup of liquor and enjoying the night,” Holland said.

Holland said there was a birthday party behind the group, so when he heard a big pop he thought it was a champagne bottle from them.

“As I go to turn around and look, I see one of the employees and some other people running with a look of biblical fear on their face,” Holland said. “And as they’re running, I call my uncle Patrick Robinson and pulled him down. People were running everywhere. I looked over on the right side of the bar and noticed two guys wrestling with a gun.

“Then I get up, start running that way. I picked up a chair. I was going to smack the guy with a chair but I couldn’t see exactly which person it was. I put the chair down, and realized the person on the bottom was the shooter. I helped the guy pull the gun free, and pulled the guy back into my lap, hit him with a rear-naked choke, and choked him to sleep.”

Holland said he waited for the police to come, speaking about it as though it wasn’t a big deal. Holland is not of the opinion that he halted what could have been a severely tragic mass shooting.

“Honestly, the guy had a revolver, so it couldn’t have been a mass shooting,” he said. “That’s six shots. Maybe the guy was trying to rob the place. Maybe the guy was high and just tripping. There’s no guarantee what his intentions were, but he had a gun when we were all eating. When they shoot, it’s just natural instinct to do something.”

Jesus Samaniego, 24, was taken into custody and is facing two charges. He was already wanted on a misdemeanor allegation, WFAA first reported.

This is the second vigilante episode Holland has found himself in the last six months. Last October, he helped police detain a carjacker.

Holland recalled that he was driving down the street for a business meeting when he saw a guy “zooming” out of a parking lot with a man running behind it. Holland’s car had recently been stolen, and he empathized with the victim. Holland asked the victim what happened, and gunned it after the alleged carjacker in his Dodge Charger.

“I was really just looking for an opportunity to drive my car fast,” Holland joked. “I busted a U-Turn, chased the guy down. He crashed into a tree, and then he got the car back into ‘drive’, which is crazy — I thought it was done for. Then I chased him down again and he crashed into a truck pulling a trailer full of lawn equipment, totaling his car.

“Then he got out and started running. I acted like I was going to throw my coffee mug at him, and he kind of flinched. I kicked his legs out from underneath him, and we held that guy until the cops came too. These situations seem crazy, but when they happen it’s really not that bad.”

Earlier this month, Holland defeated Alex Oliveira at UFC 272 in Las Vegas, a victory that earned him the coveted “Performer of the Night” award. He says he is not sure what his next fight will be.

“My next opponent is going to be whoever they give me,” he said. “I really can’t choose like that. I wish I could, or I would have my Donald Cerrone fight ready to go.”

As far as what his big takeaway was from the incident, Holland was quick to give credit to the third person who wrestled with the gunman at the sushi restaurant before he and his uncle attacked the scene.

“There’s good in the world,” Holland said.
