Kerry Kittles became the fifth Net in the past two months to undergo surgery when Dr. Norman Scott, the Knicks’ team physician, performed a successful arthroscopic procedure yesterday on the shooting guard’s right knee.

The surgery repaired the articular cartilage over the bone.

Kittles, who started and ended the season on the sidelines because of the bum knee – he missed the first three and the finale – was to begin rehabbing the knee immediately. He will be on crutches for six weeks.

Other Nets on the surgery list include Jim McIlvaine, Jayson Williams, Scott Burrell and Keith Van Horn.
