FREDERIC WEIS, 22, 7-2, 260 Center: Plays for Limoges in France. Averaged 13.4 points and 7.3 rebounds this season, the first year he has averaged double-figures in points. Underwent back surgery on April 1. This was not full-blown back surgery, but arthroscopic-like surgery to trim disc. He was playing again by June 1 and is now playing in France for the National team in the World Championships. A back to the basket type player, he can use both hands. Is going to have to get in better condition because the NBA is so much faster than the European game. Has to get used to physical play.

J.R. KOCH, 21, 6-10, 225: Named to the all-tournament team at Portsmouth Invitational Tournament after averaging 19.3 points and 8.0 rebounds. Chosen 46th overall. Played in all 125 games at Iowa and didn’t average double-figures in points until senior year when he scored 10.4 a game. Shot .509 for his career and excelled on defensive end.
