MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The Heisman Trophy winner can envision becoming a Pro Bowler. The first-round pick of the Oakland A’s can picture life as an All-Star.

Kyler Murray is currently keeping both dreams alive.

Though the Oklahoma quarterback plans to attend spring training this winter and would sacrifice his $4.6 million baseball signing bonus should he pursue a football career, Murray hasn’t yet ruled out entering the NFL draft.

“Right now, obviously I’m going to play baseball, but I’m not focused on any of that right now,” Murray said prior to Saturday’s Orange Bowl. “It’s never bad to have options.”

The speedy center fielder was taken with the ninth-overall pick in the MLB draft, before becoming Oklahoma’s starting quarterback. With Oakland’s approval, Murray fulfilled his dream of playing college football, and compiled one of the greatest seasons in history, leading the Sooners to a College Football Playoff matchup with defending national champion Alabama.

Though the 5-foot-10 dual threat would be undersized in the NFL, his extraordinary athleticism has propelled Murray into the first round of numerous draft projections.

“I’ve always felt like I could play in the NFL,” Murray said. “I’m a confident guy. There’s not a lot of short quarterbacks in the league, but I think there’s more guys paving the way for the transition of not really caring how big you are, how tall you are. But for me, I’ve played this game my whole life, and I’ve always felt like I could do it.”
