Pennsbury (Pa.) offensive lineman J.J. Denman decommitted from Wisconsin and verbally committed to Rutgers yesterday.

Denman (6-6, 310) was ranked by Tom Lemming as the fourth-best defensive lineman and No. 38 player in the country, while scout.com tabbed him as a four-star prospect and No. 17 tackle.

“I just felt it was the best thing for me and my family,” Denman told Philly.com.

Six Wisconsin assistants left the staff recently, and Denman cited his relationship with RU tight ends coach Brian Angelichio.

“I’ve known [Rutgers’ staff] them for a long time,’’ he said. “I’m real close with the guy who recruited me.’’
