The final day of the PSAL basketball season is upon us. Eight teams will enter St. Francis College on Sunday with the hopes of winning a championship and going upstate to Albany. Only four, though, will get the privilege of hoisting the PSAL banner and making that trip to Albany for the NYS Federation tournament.
Frederick Douglass Academy and Pathways feature three Division I-caliber talents in Moussa Kone (Hofstra), Kevin Douglas (St. Francis College) and Jordan Washington (undecided) and neither side has ever reached a title game. In the ‘A’ final, it will be a battle of dynamic lead guards as Midwood’s Bryan Smith and Long Island City’s Aaron Williams face off.
On the girls side, Scholars Academy is trying to do the incredible by winning a Class B title in just its second varsity season. Bedford Academy, though, is bent on winning the crown that also eluded them last year. Wings is the favorite in the ‘A’ final, but Curtis is playing its best basketball of the season. Both squads are ‘AA’ caliber.
For all the action throughout the day, hang out with us on our interactive live blog below. As always, all your questions and comments are welcome.
