LSU running back Trey Holly is staunchly maintaining his innocence in speaking out for the first time since he was charged with attempted second-degree murder.
Holly was one of three people arrested in connection with a Feb. 9 shooting in Farmerville, La., in which a man was shot in the leg and a woman was in critical condition after being shot three times.
“As you guys know I was recently arrested on 3 felony charges. I have been falsely identified, accused, and arrested,” Holly wrote in a Facebook post published Saturday.

LSU“I am 100% innocent and the people that know me know this is not my character at all. I was not involved in the incident at all. I was at home which is where the incident took place. I turned myself in because I was notified of an arrest warrant and I wanted to fully cooperate. Due to this being an ongoing investigation I cannot give many details.
“To my fans I’m sorry for the confusion but you guys know this is not me at all. I will come back better than ever and I look forward to proving my innocence. To the REAL ONES thank you guys for standing beside me through this tough time, I got this and my story will be told one day and it will be LEGENDARY.”
In addition to attempted murder, Holly was charged with one count of illegal use of a weapon and one count of aggravated criminal damage to property.

He has been suspended indefinitely from LSU’s football program pending the outcome of the case.
A four-star recruit, Holly had 110 yards on 11 carries last season; 91 of those yards came Oct. 21 versus Army.
