Next time you’re bemoaning having to do yardwork, grousing that if you were a big-time athlete you wouldn’t have to do that kind of stuff, think again. With Gabriel Obertan injured, Manchester United put the highly-rated French prodigy to work doing some manual labor around their Carrington training ground.

The winger arrived at Old Trafford making $33,500-per-week, but the coaching staff wanted to make sure he didn’t develop a case of hubris to go with his bad back. So according to the Sun, they set him to work, watering hanging baskets, pruning the rose bushes, and even washing the staff’s cars. That was, until he finally made his debut last month.

Bet no transfer has ever been so eager to see the field with his new team. Wonder if they tried that with Roy Keane? He probably would’ve decapitated somebody. Or Cristiano Ronaldo? He would’ve burst into a pool of tears…
