Melanie Collins adores her job as an NFL sideline reporter for CBS, but there’s one aspect about being on the road that she finds “disturbing.”
During a recent “Ask me anything” on her Instagram Story, Collins was pressed about whether she gets tired from all the traveling. The Penn State alum replied that while she does, in the end, “it’s all worth it.”

In addition to her NFL gig with CBS, Collins is a host on the Golf Channel. She has also covered college football and college basketball for CBS Sports and worked for Yahoo Sports.
Collins added in a separate Instagram Story that she’s grateful for her professional opportunities.

When asked about career advice for prospective broadcast journalists, Collins advised them to “get all of the experience” they possibly can while still in school, among other crucial tidbits.
“Be open minded about your role or title … the industry continues to change and evolve,” she said, adding, “always be the most prepared person in the room.”
