In anticipation of an afternoon rainstorm, the USTA has moved the start of today’s U.S. Open men’s semifinal an hour earlier — from noon to 11 a.m.

Open officials are desperate to avoid a fifth straight Monday final. If the men’s semifinals are stuck in a rain delay, it could create havoc with tonight’s prime-time women’s final, which has separate admission.

This is the last year the men won’t have a day off between the semifinals and finals. Sources say a Sunday prime-time men’s final is under consideration.
