Michael Vick is officially becoming a college football coach.
The former Falcons star and one-time Jets quarterback has been hired as Norfolk State’s new head coach, according to The Virginian-Pilot.
The 44-year-old Vick, who played his college ball at Virginia Tech, had never coached at any level before agreeing to take over a program that went 15-30 the past four seasons under Dawson Odums.
Odums was fired in late November.

An introductory news conference for Vick is expected within a week, the Pilot reported.
He is the second high-profile college football hire in the last week, with former Patriots coach Bill Belichick taking over at North Carolina.
