Mike Francesa appears to be diving into this whole Twitter thing head first.

After the longtime WFAN host expressed initial skepticism about the social media platform, he sent out his first two tweets Friday. Then on Saturday, he was all over the site, sending out eight brief messages to his 56,000-plus followers.

Mostly, he focused on the Cavaliers-Celtics playoff game and the Preakness, though he sent out some late-night appreciation for the Mets’ comeback win over the Diamondbacks.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Francesa comment without questioning someone’s strategy.

“Really good win for Mets but is Arizona kidding?” Francesa wrote after the Mets’ 5-4 walk-off victory on a Wilmer Flores sacrifice fly. “You play 3B back with no out, runner on 2nd in bottom of the 9th, and then pitch to Flores with LH. Joke! Still, I’ve been hard on Mets. That was a big win.”

Twitter has proven highly addictive for lesser commenters than Francesa, so WFAN’s prodigal personality may want to keep an eye on that.

But for now, Mongo Nation waits with bated breath for the 280-character musings from the man himself.
