Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach was taken by ambulance to a Jackson hospital after experiencing what the school called “a personal health issue at his home” on Sunday.
Leach was taken from his home in Starkville to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, roughly 125 miles away.
No further information was given by the SEC school regarding the 61-year-old Leach’s condition, but defensive coordinator Zach Arnett will be in charge of the football team until Leach returns, according to a statement.

Leach is in his third season at Mississippi State after eight seasons at Washington State. He previously coached for 10 years at Texas Tech.
