"This is the biggest day of my life," Makhachev said. "I try to control, but I can't. When I took him to the ground, I felt it was going to be long night and I can do whatever I want. I expect for him that he would try to get up. He had a couple sweeps. But I stop them.
He told Craig Jones after the fight...
"Your jiu-jitsu don't work. You need to come to Dagistan. Two, three years in Dagestan."
"I am ready [for Ilia Topuria]. No injury. No pain."
On Dillon Danis...
"When you meet someone you've talked about for five years, you have to answer for what you said. And today I don't feel like he answered for them," Makhachev said.
"[Dillon Danis] should be banned from this country."
"This was the hardest camp of my life," Makhachev said. "We did a lot of weights. I eat on time to gain weight. The coach of the taekwondo Russia team. I improved a lot [there]."
On his legacy after winning his second title.
"I go to my teammates and help them. We go whole team to Dubai to help [Usman Nurmagomedov]. Not because of money or something. Because we are all brothers."
"Alexander Volkanovski was the hardest fight of my life," Makhachev continued.

On Zhang Weili...
"She definitely has the skills to last at flyweight," Shevchenko said. "It is rare that a fighter is shorter than me, and I like it."
"I don't think it was just the size [that beat Weili]... My previous opponent from France was bigger than me. I did what I had to do, I won the fight. The distance, the control. It's about how good you control your body and weight. And how much you can manage it."
"Not the most exciting main event title fight yet," White said. "Islam is a couple of fights away from possible GOAT talk."
"Islam is a possibility for the White House card," White added.
On Michael Morales...
"Skies the limit for that kid."
On Bo Nickal flipping off the New York crowd after his win...
"I don't give a s–t."

Dillon Danis was thrown out of the arena for moving around seats and sitting in other fighters seats.
Dana said: "I blame myself for that. This was on me."
White had Danis removed from the arena; the UFC will not be pressing charges.
On UFC APEX shows: "We're going to continue doing exactly what we've been doing."
On Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua.
"That's a bad idea [for Jake Paul]," White said. "Everyone will be tuning in for that. And we all know why."
"I feel a lot cooler, a lot better [after the win]," Morales said. "The key here was being cool, calm, and collected. I was s--ting my pants in the back. But my coaches helped me calm down."
On Islam Makhachev...
"We knew that Islam Makhachev was going to go to grappling. He's the double champ, he's new up here," Morales said.
"The UFC will make the call on who will fight for the welterweight title," Morales added. "I will not turn down a fight. If I have to fight Carlos Prates or Ian Machado Garry, so be it."
On why he will be able to avoid Makhachev's grappling.
"I'm different. I'll be more prepared and more focused."
The scores aren't in yet, but this one wasn't close. Islam Makhachev will win the UFC welterweight title by unanimous decision.
50-45 across the board, Makhachev wins by unanimous decision. Della Maddalena was creative in his get-up attempts, but he was never close tonight.
"All my opponents know [takedowns are coming]," Makhachev said post-fight to Joe Rogan. "Open the White House. I'm ready."
The Russian grappler would be an interesting choice for that event.
Time for the champion Jack Della Maddelena to swing for the fences.
He throws everything into the strike but can't land.
Takedown. Back to the kimura submission attempt for Makhachev.
3 minutes left round five. It's been dominance from Makhachev, who appears content to hunt for submission in top half guard. Not fully committing, though, to be safe enough to hold the position.
Should probably stand this up, as Makhachev is now stuck in Della Maddalena's guard.

This one is about over. 40 seconds left.
All rounds start on the feet, but not for long.

Della Maddalena somehow retains half guard. Still a terrible spot for the champ.

30 seconds left, Makhachev looking for a kimura submission. Nearly gets it. Round end. Domination.

Makhachev lands strikes and suffocating Jack Della Maddalena.
Still riding in top half guard with under two minutes to go in round two. Would like to see referee Herb Dean step in at points here. Not enough action to hold the position, in my opinion.
