INDIANAPOLIS – He was athletic back then but his game is more complete now, sort of the result of an evolution of his time in the NBA. At least that’s how Chris Mullin sums up Latrell Sprewell, whom he called “one of my favorite” teammates.

“As the years have gone by, he’s gotten much more polished,” Mullin said of Sprewell, his teammate at Golden State from 1992 to ’97. “I’ve had a great relationship with Spree. He’s one of my favorite guys that I played with. He played hard every night, worked on his game.

“He’s probably one of the best athletes in the league easily.”
