Three-year-old trotting sensation Muscle Hill was installed as the 3-5 morning-line favorite, from post position 1, for the $1.5M Hambletonian, Saturday afternoon at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

Trained by Greg Peck, Muscle Hill stayed unbeaten in four seasonal starts by easily winning his Hambletonian elimination last week.

“You know in a movie the guy’s going to get the girl, but in sports you genuinely do not know what is going to happen,” said Peck. “There’s nine other horses in there with a chance, so things have to go our way.”

Explosive Matter (5-1, post 2) was impressive in his Hambo elim victory for trainer Noel Daley.

“I’d like to win [the Hambletonian] regardless, but I don’t want to be lucky or don’t want the other one to be unlucky,” said Daley. “To get the win fair and square, that’s all we’re asking for.”

The Hambletonian will be broadcast live on NBC with an estimated post time of 4:12 p.m.
