The New York Post’s TV Sports Columnist, Phil Mushnick, has won the 2007 New York State Sportswriter of the Year award, presented by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, for the fourth time since 1999. The winner is determined by the voting of fellow media members.

Mushnick will receive the honor on May 5 at the 49th awards ceremony and banquet in Salisbury, N.C., home of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame.

Other award winners include WNBC’s Bruce Beck for the NY State Sportscaster of the Year and CBS’s Jim Nantz for the National Sportscaster of the Year. The Hall of Fame broadcasting inductee will be Phillies TV and radio legend Harry Kalas.
