Navy and Maryland were forced to postpone their Saturday lacrosse game in College Park after the Midshipmen were hit hard by an outbreak of Norovirus.

Since returning from a loss at Richmond on Tuesday, more than 30 Navy players and staff members have contracted symptoms consistent with Norovirus, according to the school.

The virus is highly contagious, causing vomiting and diarrhea, according to the CDC.

Both schools determined the game should be moved to avoid spreading it further, though no make-up date has been set.

The Naval Academy is already at work ensuring its facilities are being disinfected.
