College coaches won’t be able to send potential recruits grainy photos of their breakfast thanks to NCAA regulations.

The NCAA clarified its stance on the use of photo-altering software such as Instagram for recruiting purposes on Wednesday.

In an educational column posted by the NCAA dealing with the sending of photographs as attachments, a coach man not send “a photograph that has been altered or staged for a recruiting purpose” to potential student-athletes.

The clarification of the rule, which also includes photo-editing programs such as Photoshop, Camera Awesome and Camera+, comes just months after the NCAA lifted regulations limiting the number of texts and phone calls coaches could make to high school athletes following their sophomore years.

The new recruiting rules also allow for coaches to contact prospective recruits via other social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter.
