Nebraska tight end Arik Gilbert has been arrested for burglary for the second time in under three weeks
Gilbert, who is awaiting a transfer eligibility ruling from the NCAA after arriving in Nebraska after two years at the University of Georgia, was arrested Friday in Lumpkin County, Georgia for smash-and-grab burglary and alleged obstruction of officers, according to Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office records.
Gilbert was previously arrested for and booked on burglary charges in Lancaster County, Nebraska, less than three weeks ago.
He allegedly stole vape products worth approximately $1,600 from an SJ’s Liquor and Vape Shop on Aug. 29.
Gilbert has yet to take a snap with the Cornhuskers as he awaits an NCAA ruling, and there’s no telling when — or it —that will come.

The 6-foot-5 tight end spent his last two years at Georgia.
Last season, he caught two passes for 16 yards and one touchdown.
The now 22-year-old was the Gatorade Football Player of the Year in 2020 when he was coming out of high school.
