Michigan tried an unorthodox method of attempting to slow Ohio State down.

Michigan defensive lineman Carlo Kemp untied and took off the left shoe of Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins after tackling the running back during the second quarter of the team’s rivalry game Saturday afternoon in Ann Arbor.

Kemp and fellow lineman Aiden Hutchinson made the tackle at Dobbins’ ankles after a 4-yard run and the Fox television cameras caught Kemp loosening the shoe and getting help from Hutchinson in prying it off. Kemp was called for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and the drive ended with a Dobbins’ running for a touchdown.

Dobbins has been a torn in the side of the Wolverines, who trail 28-16 at the half. The junior has already run for 103 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries for the No. 1 ranked Buckeyes.
