Olympic skiing legend Bode Miller is facing two misdemeanor drug charges after an arrest in Idaho earlier this month — days before the eight-year anniversary of his daughter’s drowning death.
Miller, 48, was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia following a June 6 incident, TMZ reported, with the skiier being found with 4.1 grams of psilocybin, commonly known as hallcinogenic mushroom, per a police affidavit obtained by the outlet.
The former Team USA skiing star was later released after posting a $5,000 cash bond and has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

The case remains active, with Miller scheduled to appear for a pretrial hearing on July 29.
Miller’s 19-month-old daughter, Emeline, died on June 10, 2018 after drowning in a neighbor’s swimming pool in a tragic accident.
“I turned around and the door that leads to the back yard, that was closed, had this tiny sliver of light coming through the side,” Miller’s wife Morgan told the Today show in 2018. “And my heart sank and I opened the door and she was floating in the pool. And I ran and I jumped in.”
Emeline was one of the couple’s six children.
Miller is one of the most decorated alpine skiers in American history, winning six Olympic medals across his career.
His Olympic haul included a gold medal in the super combined at the 2010 Vancouver Games.
He also won two overall World Cup titles during a decorated career that made him one of the biggest names in American winter sports.
