Yannick Bertrand has one Olympics appearance on his skiing résumé — but he makes an appearance online every four years.

The highlight of Bertrand taking a gate to the groin is one of the most infamous highlights in the sport’s history and it gets replayed on social media when the Winter Olympics come around.

A video of it posted on X has exploded with the uninitiated taking it in as excitedly as if it was clip from this year’s games in Milan.

Ironically, that race was not even during the Olympics — instead occurring during a 2007 World Cup race.

That came one year after Bertrand’s lone Olympic appearance, when he finished 24th in the downhill and super-G events at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin, Italy.

That has not stopped fans from flocking to the video, with the clip generating 2.7 million views and counting.

“It’s not the Winter Olympics without watching this clip (sound on) at least a hundred times Oh monsieuuurr,” the poster said of the Frenchman’s folly.

Why “sound on”? Because Bertrand lets out a blood-curdling scream at the moment of impact.

A small sample of the unforgiving comments:

“Damn. I felt that….”

“New fear unlocked and I don’t even ski.”

“Ooof!! That hurt from here.”

The initial poster — @Sierra_Rak — reveled in her new social media fame by posting a screen grab of Bertrand looking down at his crotch area.

“I love how he looked down to make sure it was all still there,” she wrote.

NBC even took part of the fun four years ago when they posted the highlight to their Olympics account for the 2022 Games.

If Bertrand thought he was safe this year, the internet had other ideas.
