Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte was reportedly suspended for 10 months Wednesday by the US Olympic Committee for his embarrassing gas station debacle during the Rio Games.
Lochte, 32, was also suspended by the International Olympic Committee for causing an international incident when he lied about being robbed at gunpoint after a night of partying, according to TMZ.
The 10-month suspension is expected to be longer than his colleagues James Feigen, Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz.
The website reported that at least one of the other three swimmers has received a four-month suspension.
The Olympic-sized fiasco began when Lochte said during an interview that cops with fake badges pulled him and his pool bros over to the side of the road and demanded money.
As evidence that disputed Lochte’s story began to mount, the swimmer was forced to recant the tall tale.
Rio authorities alleged that the swimmers had drunkenly trashed the bathroom and considered charging Lochte with the false reporting of a crime.
Lochte’s teammates cooperated with authorities in clarifying the situation. At that point, Lochte was already in the United States.
Lochte is now preparing to appear on Dancing with the Stars next week.
