MILAN — Canada’s captain is injured.
Sidney Crosby retreated to the locker room in the second period of a quarterfinal matchup with Czechia at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics on Wednesday and was ruled out for the rest of the game with a lower-body injury.
Sandwiched by Czechia’s Radko Gudas and Martin Necas, the 38-year-old Crosby was slow to the bench and looked to be in pain while speaking with a trainer.

When the Penguins center left the game, Canada was trailing 2-1. It’s the first time the Canadians have trailed in an Olympic game since 2010, snapping an outrageous streak of 805:01 of play.
The teams entered the third period tied 2-2.
