Not everything is running smoothly with Snoop Dogg’s new Olympics coaching role.
On Wednesday, the legendary rapper’s security guards were reportedly involved in a confrontation with Dutch speed skating legend Marianne Timmer.
Timmer, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, is in Milano Cortina as a media commentator. She claimed that she was “pushed even closer” to a wall while waiting to interview athletes following the 1,000-meter speed skating event at Milano Speed Skating Stadium.
Snoop Dogg has tried his hand at numerous events while in Milan, including sledding down the ski slopes. Getty Images“I was standing against a wall, and one of the security guards pushed me even closer,” Timmer told Sportnieuws. “I said, ‘Just act normal,’ it’s a really wide hall, about four meters. But then the guy came back and I said, ‘What? Do I have to go through that wall or something?’”
Following Timmer’s comment, she added that the security guards came back and “started acting all up against me.”
Timmer also said that she saw someone else being “roughly escorted” out of the stadium by the guards, and she was afraid the same could happen to her.
Marianne Timmer Getty Images“I could just picture myself being grabbed by the neck and thrown out. That would have been a great story,” she said.
Snoop Dogg is in Milan as an “honorary coach” for Team USA following a few appearances on NBC in the 2024 Paris Games.
The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee said in a press release that he “will lend his signature humor and heart to help motivate Team USA athletes” in Milan.

“Team USA athletes are the real stars — I’m just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines,” Snoop Dogg said in the press release. “This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that’s a win for me.”
So far, Snoop Dogg has been busy, including carrying the Olympic flame last week and supporting Team USA as a fan at various events. He also went viral last week after trying out certain sports like curling.
He’s even pitched in again as a broadcaster for NBC.
So far, the United States has the third-most total medals (13) in Milano Cortina, including four golds.
But while Snoop Dogg’s motivation may be working in competition, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows behind the scenes.
