Norwegian biathlete Sturla Holm Lægreid said Tuesday he has not heard from his ex-girlfriend since making a bombshell cheating confession during the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.
Speaking to the media following his bronze-medal finish in the men’s 20km individual biathlon — when he stunned viewers post-race with an infidelity revelation — the 28-year-old Olympian said he has not “got any reactions from the girl I mentioned,” and is hopeful his comments “don’t make it worse for her.”
“I am happy because maybe she has not seen it and maybe she will see it at the right time,” Lægreid said, according to the Daily Mail.

Upon claiming bronze in Tuesday’s event, Lægreid broke down in tears when recapping the “worst week of my life” after telling his former love he had been unfaithful.
“There is something I want to share with someone who may not be watching today,” he said during an interview with Norwegian network NRK. “Half a year ago, I met the love of my life. The world’s most beautiful and nicest person.

A reconciliation seems like a long shot, however.
Hours after Lægreid spoke publicly on his past indiscretions, his ex-girlfriend told Norwegian tabloid VG on Wednesday that his actions will be “hard to forgive.”
“I did not choose to be put in this position, and it hurts to have to be in it,” she said anonymously. “We have had contact, and he is aware of my opinions on this.”
