Suni Lee has disabled comments on an Instagram photo with her boyfriend after receiving hateful messages about being in an interracial relationship with USC football player Jaylin Smith.
Lee, a gold medalist at the 2020 Olympics and current gymnast at Auburn, said earlier this month that she received “so much hate” after the couple went public.
“We’re really happy. I don’t think there’s any more to it than that. I think it should just be normalized,” Lee told TMZ Sports.
Asked about disabling comments on her Instagram, Lee said, “I’ve gotten a lot of support. I’m really thankful.”

Smith is a freshman safety at USC who appeared in five games and recorded one interception and one forced fumble this past season.
