The swimming finals kick off live at 2:30 p.m. ET, with the women’s 400m individual medley final leading the action.

Event to watch: Badminton – Day 3

One of three racket sports featured at the Olympics, badminton made its debut as an official Olympic sport at the 1992 Barcelona Games, with four medal categories: men’s and women’s singles, and men’s and women’s doubles.

Forget tennis balls or ping pong balls—it’s all about the birdie, also known as a shuttlecock or shuttle.

It’s best-of-three games, with the first team, or player, to reach 21 points claiming victory.

China is a force to be reckoned with, totaling 20 gold medals, 12 silver and 15 bronze.
