On a night when clickers were put to good use in Boston — for those who didn’t get creative with multi-screen setups — the Patriots added a second win by outdrawing the Red Sox, playing Game 2 of the ALCS, in the TV-ratings battle.

The Patriots-Chiefs shootout garnered a 34.3 rating — the percent of televisions in the market that were watching — in Boston and a 51 viewership share, while Red Sox-Astros received a 20.6 rating and a 30 share. The big ratings meant that 81 percent of TVs in Boston were tuned into one of the two games.

The battle between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes drew a 14.6 rating nationally, peaking at 16.2 from 11-11:30 p.m., when the Patriots were finishing off the walk-off win. It was NBC’s highest-rated “Sunday Night Football” game since Week 1 of the 2017 season.

That didn’t hurt TBS too much, as the Red Sox’s win over the Astros got a 4.1 rating nationally, the top-rated program on cable Sunday night.
