Disgraced baseball slugger Pete Rose is proving to be a tough out.

The all-time hits leader — who’s banned from America’s Pastime for gambling on games — has been hired by the FOX TV network as a guest analyst.

Rose, 74, isn’t allowed in stadium broadcast booths, so he’ll appear in a studio for pre- and post-game shows on FOX, and various programs on the FOX Sports 1 cable channel.

A FOX spokesman said that Rose’s debut hadn’t yet been scheduled, but that Major League Baseball “was informed every step of the way” ahead of his hiring.

Dubbed “Charlie Hustle” for his aggressive style of play, Rose holds the Major League record for bagging 4,256 hits during his career.

But the 17-time All-Star was barred from the Hall of Fame when he agreed to a lifetime MLB ban in 1989, following a probe that found he bet on the Cincinnati Reds to win while managing the team.

Rose vehemently denied the allegations until finally coming clean in his 2004 autobiography, “Pete Rose: My Prison Without Bars.”

His 1997 application for reinstatement was never ruled on by former MLB Commissioner Bud Selig, but he re-applied last month to new Commissioner Rob Manfred.
