Third-seeded Brooklyn Tech upset second-seeded Cardozo, 3-2, in the PSAL Class A semifinals at the Bay Terrace Tennis Club in Queens on Friday and will meet No. 1 Beacon in the finals Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing.
For Brooklyn Tech (12-0), No. 1 singles Jake Sosonkin topped Hugh Mo, 10-6, in second singles Sami Chahi got by Matthew Balilo, 10-2, and in first doubles Justin Selig and Ilan Korchmar topped Mitchell Cheung and Jun Yuminaga, 10-6, 10-6. Douglas Mo won in third singles and second doubles Walter Dawes and Samuel Caloras prevailed for Cardozo (12-2).
No. 1 Beacon 3, No. 4 Forest Hills 2: Jeremyah Schur topped Jonathan Selegean, 11-10, in third singles, Maxwell Smith and Lucas Pickering beat Xunlong Zang and Michael Jasienowski, 10-2, 10-2 in first doubles, and Daniel Segan and Richard Sec bested Kevin Roan and Arial Borukhov in second doubles for Beacon (12-0), the three-time defending PSAL Class A city champion. No. 1 singles Stefan Ilic and No. 2 singles Justin Vijungco prevailed for Forest Hills (11-3).
