The seeds are out and overall the PSAL did a fine job, considering their list was very similar to mine. We did differ in a few areas, particularly the No. 9 through No. 12 spots.
The official Class A and B lists are followed by some thoughts and the schedule for this weekend’s first-round games. The top three teams in each league get a first round bye. Check out where your team stands.

Analysis: Beacon first and Science second is a given. The PSAL did the right thing by putting Tottenville third. The Pirates earned it, winning Staten Island A and get an extra round to rest up any nagging injuries. No. 4 Francis Lewis opens up with No. 29 A.P. Randolph, but could see division rival Flushing in the second round if the Red Devils get past Forest Hills.
The PSAL opted to put Brooklyn Tech No. 9 and back-to-back division winner Long Island City at 10. I had Bard and Hunter, who tied for second place in the Manhattan A-II, in those the spots, but it appears the tie dropped them a bit. Bard may still have the easier first-round draw, playing Grand Street Campus. Brooklyn Tech plays a quality Arts & Business team, LIC gets scrappy FDR and Hunter tangles with Fort Hamilton. Those will be some of the best games of the opening round. The only other difference was No. 17 and 18 where the PSAL flipped Susan Wagner to 17 and Bayside to 18. Both hadsimilar seasons in two good divisions, plus Staten Island A is the best division in the city.
