Here’s a sports sale you can really sink your teeth into.
Dentures belonging to late baseball legend Ty Cobb were sold in an online auction for a staggering $18,840 today. They were previously displayed at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. The buyer’s name was not disclosed.

Former Detriot outfielder Ty Cobb posed in the team’s dugout in 1925. ASSOCIATED PRESSAfter the famed Detroit Tiger’s death in 1961, the false teeth were held for years by author Al Stump, Cobb’s biographer, according to SCP Auctions, who sold the dental relic.
Their next consignor, Karen Shemonsky, bought them in 1999. At that time, she told The Post, “This is such a thrill to me to now own a piece of baseball history.”
The description of the item on the auction house’s listing said, “The upper and lower dentures come with Cobb’s original plaster denture holder and brass opening device.”
