In Detroit, Alexi Ogando outpitched Justin Verlander before leaving with a finger problem and Rangers closer Neftali Feliz retired Victor Martinez after Texas, now 9-1, walked Miguel Cabrera intentionally as the tying run in the ninth inning.

In Chicago, Kurt Suzuki hit a go-ahead home run in the 10th inning, and the Athletics capitalized on Juan Pierre’s dropped fly ball in the ninth.

Dodgers 6, Giants 1

In San Francisco, Clayton Kershaw (2-1) fanned seven and Rod Barajas homered. Dodgers shortstop Rafael Furcal broke his thumb sliding into third base and is likely headed for the DL.

In San Diego, Chris Heisey hit a two-run homer and Jonny Gomes added a solo shot for Cincinnati.
