With the NCAA basketball tournament going on, teenage hoopsters are sitting across the country dreaming of a chance to play against and rub elbows with NBA players. Well, for a group of teenage soccer players, they’ve gotten a similar once-in-a-lifetime experience. Or make that twice-in-a-lifetime.
The Red Bull academy Under-18 team was invited to practice against Argentina, with the two-time World Cup champions in town to face the U.S. National Team in a friendly at 7 p.m. tonight at the New Meadowlands. Here is a video clip of the teenagers getting a chance to train against World Player of the Year Lionel Messi, and the rest of Argentina’s powerhouse squad.
