The Red Bulls have signed 21-year-old midfielder Matt Kassel, a product of the team’s youth academy.
A native of Bridgewater, Kassel played at the University of Maryland for the past three seasons and was a first team all-Atlantic Coast Conference selection last year, when he scored nine goals with a team-high 11 assists.
Kassel scored 110 goals in four years at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
He is the third player from the youth academy signed by the Red Bulls, following forwards Juan Agudelo and Giorgi Chirgadze.
