Red Bull New York signed rookie keeper Alec Dufty today. The 22-year-old had joined the club on trial as an undrafted free agent after going unselected the 2009 MLS SuperDraft.

Dufty had started 16 of games for Evansville as a senior, posting six shutouts and a 1.45 goals against average. Apparently he made enough of an impression in training camp to have earned a developmental contract. Danny Cepero will start the first four games with Jon Conway suspended, and then compete for the job upon Conway’s return.
