The Red Bulls waived Khano Smith today. No, it’s not a shock, but I’m sure it has a lot of you Red Bull fans celebrating.

The Bermudian left-winger has been nothing short of a bust, a horrid signing from the start _ bad on the field, and worse in the locker room. He managed just eight appearances, six of them starts.

Smith may have sealed his fate with a terrible performance in the U.D. Open Cup loss to D.C. His task was made even tougher because he was replacing Dave van den Bergh, who was arguably the team’s most reliable player last year and clearly one of it’s most popular. That set the bar high for Smith, and he came nowhere close to living up to it.
