Notre Dame’s beleaguered football program suffered another black eye this weekend, literally.

The team’s star QB Jimmy Clausen suffered a swollen eye after an angry fan ‘sucker-punched’ him at a South Bend, Ind. establishment early Sunday morning, according to ESPN. Clausen was out to dinner with his parents after the Fightin’ Irish lost their home finale to Connecticut, 33-30.

The loss dropped Notre Dame to a disappointing 6-5. At his press conference, Charlie Weis refused to comment on the incident, but did say Clausen would practice tomorrow and play against Stanford.
