Tiger Woods has filed to enter next month’s British Open, according to Golf Digest.
The report says Woods put in the necessary paperwork Monday and it “should be taken as a sign that Woods is looking beyond the neck injury that forced him to withdraw from the Players Championship.”
A recent MRI exam revealed Woods has an inflamed neck joint, an injury that forced him from his last tournament. He played in the Masters then failed to make the cut at Quail Hollow.
He has three tournaments, including the U.S. Open, on his schedule prior to the British Open, but it is unknown if his injury will prevent him from competing.
That tournament will be held at St. Andrews, where Woods has won twice, on July 15-18.
