The Big East added little more New York City flavor yesterday.
Mike Sherrod, a 6-2 guard from Robeson, verbally committed to Rutgers. Sherrod, a good scorer who showed that he is also adept at running an offense, led the Eagles to an 18-7 record this year before losing to Lincoln in overtime in the PSAL quarterfinals.
The Brooklyn native averaged 17 points, six assists and four steals per game during his senior year. Sherrod also considered Villanova and East Carolina.
