Oregon’s Tanguy Pepiot, racing at the Pepsi Team Invitational this past weekend, thought he had the steeplechase all sewed up, pulling up in the last 100 meters and playing to the crowd.

Unknown to Pepiot, Washington’s Meron Simon was coming on like a freight train, and took advantage of Pepiot’s gaffe, nipping him at the finish line for the unlikeliest of wins.
