The South Shore National Little League team from Staten Island defeated Delaware, 7-1, in the semifinals of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament, yesterday in Bristol, Conn.

With the win, undefeated New York has clinched a spot in the Mid-Atlantic Championship game on Monday night against either Pennsylvania or New Jersey, who play this afternoon.

Angelo Navetta, a 13-year-old left-hander, was the winning pitcher, throwing 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run, three hits and one walk, and recording 12 strikeouts.
